- When is it that a booking has been confirmed?
A booking is confirmed upon issue of a contract by the SMB upon receipt of an advance payment from the client representing 25% of the total contract.
- In most cases booking is confirmed well in advance ie a year prior to the date, the function, how does the SMB ensure the necessary availability of the necessary labour for honoring its obligations vis-à-vis its customers?
The SMB has a pool of employees who have been with the Company for the last 7 or 8 years. The SMB honors all its commitments to the Labour laws. The SMB is registered with the National Pensions Fund as employer. Our Employees are entitled to sick and local leave. All the unutilized leaves both Local and sick are reimbursed in toto. An attendance bonus is also paid. Appropriate uniform and protective clothing are supplied. All the above ensure that the SMB has a constant supply of Labour.
- When is the peak season?
As the SMB deals to a large extent with the arrangement of Hindu weddings, our peak seasons is in relation to the “Lagan’ date for wedding ie in April and May, July and August, November and December.
However as the SMB also deals with corporate functions the SMB is fully taken up in the Event Management of both public and private bodies.
- When is the delivery of tent and decorations services done?
On the eve of the function.
- Are the prices for a 3 days function (for a wedding) charged on a daily basis?
No, our prices are for the provision of services for 3 days function. However should the client need to retain the tent and other equipments for more than 3 days then the prices will be charged on a day to day basis starting with the fourth day . However it is to the discretion of the Company to let the equipment for another extra period depending on its obligation vis a vis other clients for the forthcoming week.
- When has the remaining balance on the contract to be settled?
The remaining balance on the contract is to be settled upon delivery of the services ie on the eve of the contract.
- What payment has to be made in respect for the provision of full catering services with all ingredients?
The SMB requires a down payment of 75% of the contact for the provision of the catering services with all ingredients ( fait et fourni) payable at least 14 days prior to the function.
- Does the SMB provide payment facilities in case financial difficulties?
No
However the SMB does consider each case on its merit and may grant credit facilities.
- Is the total advance payment withheld in case of cancellation of order?
An administrative cost of Rs 3,000 is withheld on the deposit provided a three months’ notice in writing is sent to SMB through registered post.
